Summary
A dispensing pharmacy seeks to recruit 2 qualified and experienced dispensing Pharmaceutical Technologists to join their team as soon as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Over the counter sales
- Dispensing prescription medicines to the customers
- Transaction processing
- Arrangement of drugs in the pharmacy
- Pricing of drugs
- Recording prescriptions
- Ensuring that different treatments are compatible
- checking dosage and ensuring that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled
- Supervising the preparation of any medicines
- Keeping a register of available drugs for stock control purposes
- Liaising with doctors about prescriptions
- Counseling and advising the customers on the treatment of minor ailments
- Advising patients of any adverse side-effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments
- Keeping up to date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses
- Assembling of prescribed medicines
- Ordering, receiving and storing pharmaceutical stock
- Ensure constant supply of pharmaceutical stock
- Inputting customer and prescription data into the computer
- Managing inventory
- Receiving payments from customers for their prescriptions
- Perform other duties assigned
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Holds a minimum diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
- Registered with relevant body
- 2-3 years’ experience as a dispensing pharmacy assistant
- Customer Service skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Smart and presentable
- Ability to maintain customer’s confidentiality
- Customer focused
