Job Description

Position: Inbound and Outbound Tour Operator (2)
Location: Nairobi
Salary: KES 36,000 Gross

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive and accurate tour quotations for both local and international destinations, ensuring competitive pricing and tailored experiences for each client.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of hotel reservations and bookings, coordinating with various properties to secure the best rates and accommodations for clients.
• Provide exceptional customer care by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction through personalized service.
• Conduct thorough sales and marketing activities, including benchmarking competitors to identify opportunities and develop strategies to increase market share.
• Handle incoming calls and attend to walk-in clients, offering professional and courteous service to meet their travel needs.
• Offer detailed and specific advice about various travel destinations, drawing on extensive knowledge and experience to help clients make informed decisions.
• Create detailed and customized itineraries, ensuring that all the needs and preferences of customers are met, from transportation to activities.
• Arrange all necessary transportation, accommodation, tours, and activities, coordinating with various service providers to ensure seamless travel experiences.
• Liaise with airlines, hotels, and ground transport companies such as coach operators to make suitable arrangements and secure the best possible deals for clients.
• Efficiently and diplomatically manage and document customer complaints, ensuring quick resolution and maintaining a positive company image.
• Plan and advertise various promotions to attract new customers and retain existing ones, utilizing creative strategies to boost sales.
• Make alternative arrangements for customers who have had their trips interrupted by unforeseen issues, ensuring minimal disruption and satisfaction.
• Gather and evaluate customer feedback on their holidays, issuing appropriate feedback forms and using the information to improve services.
• Occasionally travel abroad for research purposes, gaining firsthand knowledge of destinations to enhance the travel experiences offered to clients.
• Design and set up attractive displays at trade shows, showcasing the company’s offerings and engaging potential customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, or a Diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
• IATA and Amadeus training is an added advantage.
• Must have at least two years of experience in outbound booking and experience working with international Destination Management Companies (DMCs).
• Strong sales and negotiation skills are essential.
