Job Description

The Tour and Travel Consultant Lead plays a pivotal role in providing exceptional customer service and managing the overall operations of the travel agency. This individual is responsible for overseeing a team of consultants, ensuring smooth coordination of travel arrangements, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. The Tour and Travel Consultant Lead possesses extensive knowledge of various destinations, travel packages, and industry trends to effectively advise clients and promote travel services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of travel consultants, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance performance and achieve sales targets.
  2. Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their travel preferences, needs, and budget constraints to offer personalized travel solutions.
  3. Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive sales initiatives by actively promoting travel packages, upselling additional services, and identifying opportunities for business growth.
  4. Itinerary Planning: Collaborate with clients to design customized travel itineraries, including transportation, accommodations, activities, and dining options, tailored to their preferences and budget.
  5. Destination Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest travel trends, attractions, and regulations for various destinations worldwide, providing expert advice and recommendations to clients.
  6. Booking and Reservation Management: Coordinate travel bookings, including flights, hotels, rental cars, and tours, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to client specifications.
  7. Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional customer service at all stages of the travel process, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for clients.
  8. Financial Management: Monitor and control expenses, budgets, and financial performance metrics to optimize profitability and cost-effectiveness of travel operations.
  9. Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with travel suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, discounts, and exclusive deals to enhance service offerings and competitive advantage.
  10. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, travel policies, and safety standards, maintaining accurate records, contracts, and documentation for all travel arrangements.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar role within the travel industry, with a track record of leadership and sales success.
  3. In-depth knowledge of travel booking systems (e.g., Booking.com, Sabre), CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  5. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  8. Proficiency in foreign languages is an advantage.
  9. Passion for travel and a commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences to clients.
